Research for Methylene Blue
Research articles on Methylene Blue: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7693951/ - It has been used since 1876.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3087269/ -Methylene blue, an inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase and guanylate cyclase has many uses in medicine. It has been found to improve the hypotension associated with various clinical states. It also improves hypoxia and hyper dynamic circulation in cirrhosis of liver and severe hepatopulmonary syndrome. It also results in transient and reproducible improvement in blood pressure and cardiac function in septic shock.

—>NOW, READ THIS ONE —> https://www.cfspharmacy.pharmacy/blog/post/the-many-clinical-uses-of-methylene-blue -Methylene blue can improve Alzheimer’s symptoms by a combination of diverse functions. The pathological effects of Alzheimer’s include amyloid plaques(aggregates of the amyloid protein in the gray matter of the brain) and neurofibrillary tangles. Neurofibrillary tangles are caused by the accumulation of a protein called Tau inside nerve cells in the brain. Clinical symptoms of Alzheimer’s are more correlated with Tau protein than with amyloid plaques. ---> Methylene blue can decrease tau formation through its effect on mitochondria which should improve and/or delay clinical symptoms of Alzheimer`s disease.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK557593/ - Methylene blue is a medication used in the management and treatment of methemoglobinemia, a condition in which hemoglobin decreases its ability to carry oxygen.
Not related to dementia, but interesting! https://www.medicinenet.com/methylene_blue-oral/article.htm - MBlue as a weak antiseptic for urinary tract. Might be additional something to take for urinary tract weaknesses. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9392394/ -Research shows MBlue may be a future treatment for oral cancer.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3087269/ - Methylene blue is contraindicated in patients who have developed hypersensitivity reactions to it and in severe renal insufficiency. It is relatively contraindicated in G6PD deficient patients as it can cause severe hemolysis and also in patients with Heinz body anemia.18,43 Methylene blue is a MAO inhibitor and therefore can interact with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) and MAO inhibitors to cause serious serotonin toxicity.42,43
